Kermit Hale's Blog

I have been trying to find a way to post a song here that has guitar notes above the words but the system wants to change the notes around and shove them to the left. But here is a link to a pdf file that I made of a rewrite of the Eagle’s song, “Lyin’ eyes” called “Jesus Cried.” I hope it comes through all right…

  1. I was reading your comment on the WordPress blog about the problems you were having trying to write lyrics with guitar chords above the chord-change words. I never thought of doing that, and I can see how it would be difficult with ordinary text format. I can see your text posts here, and read the song in Scribd, which I have never tried before, so that’s one way to handle it.
Mine is just a text and image blog and I use a Windows XP OS, so I have no trouble posting most of the time. But I have learned to preview my posts to make sure they look the way I intend them before I stop editing.
Good luck! I’m betting there is not another music site like yours on WordPress, if you can make it work.

    • Hi, and thank you for responding! I had a much bigger blog for about a year and a half and got no replies at all. I tried to view or preview the song on Scribd but it didn’t open for me. As soon as we finish moving across town, I will have more time to spend at BSU so I can try Windows and see if things work better. I think they will because not too many people use Linux.

And I think you are right about not too many sites with songs and chords, which is one of the reasons I wanted to do it. The other one is, I have a friend whose computer won’t read Google Docs (which is where most of my songs are right now) and I wanted to see if there was a way he could access them. Thanks again, and have a wonderful day!

    • Thanks for replting. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply but I was experiencing technical difficulties and had even considered dropping wordpress altogether. I am glad I didn’t for now I think I can start doing something. I will check out what you mentioned, about using Windows XP OS.
