This group of pages is for my fiction stories. I originally had them on the opening page but it got too long.
Wagnold’s Friend was originally posted here in three parts. I changed to one page because the more recent postings were before the older ones on my site and it was confusing. So now I know how to number pages and it won’t be as hard to find things.
Update: I have submitted it to a Magazine for publication and have removed it from here. No one seems to have read it anyway, so no big loss, right? If it gets turned down for some weird reason, I will put it back here; but if it gets published (Hurrah!) then I will put the issue info here so you can read it there.
I am debating on posting The Forbidden Fruit, which is a story that evolved out of a dissertation on what the Fruit of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was in the Garden of Eden could have been. I really want to enter it in a contest or submit it to a quarterly review for consideration. If that does not pan out, I may eventually put it here. This story was selected for the National Undergraduate Literary Conference, and I was asked to attend…but I didn’t receive the e-mail in time and – oh well, here it is. At least it was nice to know they liked it.
I am currently working on an experiment…a story that starts in Fantasy times and then over the centuries comes to our times. It is called The Dream Thief. The fantasy part is edited and polished as much as I can do it, I think, but the modern part is not, yet. When this semester is over, I will try to pick it back up. The opener is posted here, and if I ever get around to it I will post what I have of the modern part.
The Cell is in parts, too. This first one is the initial stage of the first draft of a paper I wrote in college. When I find the rest of it I’ll post it here, too. In the mean time, I am experiencing trouble getting it to post.
Also, I am working on a fantasy/mystery cross-genre novel. It doesn’t have a name, but the concept has intrigued me til I can hardly think of anything else to write about. Update: The Name is: The Missing Orc. It is going to be rather humorous (I hope) as the interaction between two characters kinda of took on a life of its own and they give each other a hard time until they can come to be friends or at least more friendly…one is a wizard’s familiar, a pseudo-dragon, and the other is the Wizard’s hired help who keeps refering to the pseudo-dragon as either a leather chicken or the scrawney chicken. I wanted it to be more serious than it turned out, but I think it can be both serious and hunorous at the same time, eh?
Update: The story ids finished and I think I will try to write more episodes, making it a series. It turned out pretty good, but I had hoped for better. Oh well, I am just starting out.
looking forward to reading your work…
